The rules

Code of conduct

Everyone is welcome. Students, instructors, cabin crew, engineers, controllers, ramp, and people still saving for their first lesson.

We rank you against your own last month. Never against the fastest person here. Do not turn this into a place where slow people feel unwelcome.

No pace shaming. No weight talk. No advice about anyone else’s medical. If someone posts a first 5K, it gets the same response as someone posting an Ironman.

Nothing posted here is medical advice, and nothing here is a substitute for a doctor, or for your AME if you hold a medical.

What counts

Any distance, any surface, any pace. A walk counts. A treadmill counts. A run interrupted twice by a level crossing counts.

You record it yourself and you convert it yourself. There is nothing to verify, because there is nothing to win by cheating: the only person a false entry misleads is you, and the only money that moves is money you chose to give.

What the club is not

Not a race, not a training plan, and not a coaching service. Nobody here is qualified to tell you how to train, and the ones who are qualified are not doing it in the club feed.

Not a fundraiser either. The club never handles money. When you give, you give directly to the organisation on their own page, under their terms.

In the club feed

Comment on other people’s activities the way you would want yours commented on. Encouragement, questions, and the occasional bad aviation pun are all welcome.

Do not give unsolicited advice about someone’s pace, weight, body, injury or medical certificate. If you are a doctor, you are still not their doctor.

Do not screenshot someone’s activity out of the club and post it elsewhere. What people share in the club they shared with the club.

If it goes wrong

Tell us. We would rather hear about something small early than find out about something serious late.

Anything that makes the club an unpleasant place to be gets dealt with, and repeated behaviour gets someone removed from the Strava club. That is the whole enforcement mechanism, and it has never had to be used.

If something is wrong, tell us in the club. We will deal with it.
